Boutique Villa & Apartments

The Lookout

Welcome to our beautiful villa & apartments on the paradise island of Bequia in the Grenadines, Caribbean.

The Lookout is a newly refurbished & re-modelled 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom property, located just a few minutes’ walk from two of the Caribbean’s best beaches (Princess Margaret & Lower Bay), featuring pure white sand & crystal clear waters. The beaches are quiet & unspoilt but fabulous beach bar/restaurants are dotted along the sand, so our guests are never too far away from freshly cooked fish or a cooling sundowner!

The villa’s enviable location also provides a breath-taking panoramic vista of the Caribbean Sea, Lower Bay beach, stunning Admiralty Bay and the surrounding pristine & natural forest.

So relax, take a deep breath... you have found a very heavenly spot!

The island’s beaches, bars & restaurants are within striking distance, yet The Lookout’s quiet, hillside setting allows guests to relax & rejuvenate in peace & tranquillity. Wake up feeling refreshed, soak up the incredible views from your private deck & sip on your morning coffee – pure bliss!

Rent the whole villa or one of our spacious two-bedroomed apartments

The Lookout is a spacious, private property offering boutique style accommodation perfect for couples & families.

The whole 4-bedroom villa can be rented (comfortably accommodating 8 guests) or the upper & lower decks are self-contained, allowing couples/families to rent an individual 2- bedroom apartment.

This well-appointed villa is surrounded by tropical fruit trees that include bananas, oranges, limes, star fruit, papaya & sugar apple. These beautiful surroundings attract wildlife such as hummingbirds & the island’s unique “wild” land turtles. Well-equipped kitchens on each floor provide guests with the convenient option to cook their own meals (or why not let us organise a private chef for you!).

We pride ourselves on a personal, genuine & friendly service. We love the island of Bequia and know that you will too, so we’d be more than happy to provide our advice, helping you to create memories that will last a lifetime.

The reviews speak for themselves......

"Our stay at this property in Bequia has been a highlight of our extensive travels. The location gives ease of access to two great beaches. The view from the veranda is excellent and ever changing with the coming and going of many boats and small ships.

The apartment is spacious and well decorated, equipped and furnished. Internet was good quality.

We have rented vacation accommodations in Spain, Costa Rica, Barbados, Dominica, the UK, Florida and North Carolina. None of these came even close to providing the quality of owner attention that Louise and Chris gave us. They are not intrusive but are helpful and thorough. Their information booklet covers all the need to know stuff and their initial briefing covered all the bases. Our regular contact over the course of the stay allowed us to get all the confirmations and answers that we needed as we lived in and explored beautiful and welcoming Bequia. Their charitable activities show their commitment to improving the lives of the people and animals who live in Bequia. It is also helpful that they are available to guide clients on walks throughout the island.

When we return we hope The Lookout will be available. In the meantime we will be raving about our visit and will be encouraging others to follow"

As your hosts, we are here to provide advice & guidance and we will always go the extra mile to enhance your island experience.  If you can’t sit still on holiday, we’d actively encourage you to join us on various hikes (or even runs) to spectacular viewpoints & locations.

Bequia: The top 5 highlights – the “must-do” things to do!

For an island of just 7 square miles, Bequia punches above her weight and offers visitors an almost overwhelming list of things to do.  As outlined in our last blog, there’s more than enough to stretch all the activities across multiple trips to this little rock in the Caribbean Sea.  It’s certainly possible to achieve most of it on a two-week vacation, but you’ll need to bolt on another fortnight to chill in a hammock on the beach just to recover.  Hmmm, not a bad idea actually!

The link to our last blog is here

Given the above introduction to this fun-filled island, we have chosen to focus here on a more achievable (and indeed essential) list of activities for your…

Maximising your stay in paradise - a two week itinerary

Maximising your stay in paradise - a two week itinerary

So you think that there won’t be much to do on a tiny Caribbean island, besides swinging in a hammock with a good book?  Well, think again!

Bequia (pronounced Bek-way or better still Bek-wee) is the undiscovered paradise island of your dreams, the Caribbean of 30 years ago. It’s hard to believe that this almost-secret vacation spot exists in the modern world, but it does.

Although Bequia is the second largest of the 32 Grenadine islands, it is only 7 square miles in size. To put it into context, London’s Heathrow Airport is slightly bigger.

Isolated enough to remain relatively unspoiled, yet lively enough to be stimulating and entertaining, Bequia provides a blend of the old and new that many find…

Hiking - Ma Peggy

Hiking - Ma Peggy

The land on which Ma Peggy is located is private and this includes the route to get there.  This must be respected.  Please do not tackle the climb before gaining authorisation from the land owners.  Chris & Louise can help with this and will guide any guests who stay at The Lookout - all part of the service!

For a start, it needs to be a little challenging (without being intimidating) and accessible to those who are at least of average mobility & fitness. It’s also nice if it feels “off the beaten track” and a real bonus if you don’t bump into another sole for the entire ramble. It’s…

Bequia, Caribbean

Bequia, Caribbean

The paradise island of Bequia (pronounced Bek-way) is more accessible & more affordable than most people think, with direct flights into the nieighbouring island of St. Vincent from the UK, US, & Canada.  There is also the option of a short 30-minute flight taking guests from the other main tourist hubs of Barbados, St. Lucia or Grenada. This short journey will take you away from big-scale resorts, shopping malls, noisy traffic & beaches full of tourists, to an island of natural splendour with friendly & welcoming people, swaying palms, idyllic beaches, lush green hillsides, and a simple unhurried lifestyle. But for a small island, Bequia packs a real punch offering a variety of bars & restaurants, unforgettable daytrips to the Tobago Cays and Mustique, as well as world-class diving & snorkelling, hiking, fishing, kayaking... the list goes on. But relax, take a breath & find time to de-stress too. Reading a book, swinging in a hammock whilst sipping on a rum punch is understandably very popular with most visitors too! Isolated enough to remain relatively unspoiled, yet lively enough to be stimulating and entertaining, Bequia provides a blend of the old and new that many find perfect. Be warned, many visitors are bitten by the Bequia bug and return time & time again!
